Anatomic Pathologist – Independent Contractor
Job Description:
- Review and interpret digital anatomic pathology cases for veterinary clients across North America
- Provide timely, accurate diagnostic reports supporting patient care and clinical decision-making
- Work independently while collaborating with experienced veterinary pathology professionals
- Manage caseload according to preferred availability and workload capacity
- Review pre-scheduled cases aligned with availability and preferences
- Maintain high standards of diagnostic quality and medical accuracy
- Stay informed on current topics, trends, and emerging issues in veterinary medicine
- Use digital pathology platforms, computer systems, and dictation tools to complete case evaluations efficiently
- Communicate findings clearly and professionally through written reports and other interactions
- Read weekend cases based on interest and availability
Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
- Strong experience in veterinary anatomic pathology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage priorities
- Strong computer proficiency and comfort working in a digital environment
- Ability to type and utilize dictation equipment efficiently
- Service-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and client satisfaction
- Familiarity with current topics and issues in clinical veterinary medicine
- Board certification through the American College of Veterinary Pathology (ACVP) or European College of Veterinary Pathology (ECVP)
- Must have an active LLC or equivalent legal business entity in your country of residence
- Must maintain your own professional liability insurance coverage appropriate for the services provided
- Other professional engagements will be evaluated case-by-case for potential conflicts of interest with IDEXX
- Fluency in French/English, Spanish/English, Portuguese/English, or Korean/English is a plus
