Assistant Electrician
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience as an Assistant Electrician or similar technical role.
Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate in Electrical Technology or a related technical field.
Male applicants are preferred for this role.
Relevant experience working with Aerial Work Platforms (AWPs) and Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs/Manlifts) is required.
Strong technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
Experience servicing equipment from brands such as JLG, Haulotte, Genie, Palazzani, Comet, Sinoboom, Bobcat, and similar manufacturers.
Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, and technical manuals.
Good troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Physically fit and able to work at heights and in industrial environments.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems in aerial work platforms (AWPs), mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs), and manlifts.
Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults using appropriate testing and diagnostic equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance on electrical wiring, control panels, batteries, motors, sensors, switches, and safety devices.
Assist in repairing and replacing defective electrical and electronic components.
Inspect equipment to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and workplace safety standards.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and service documentation.
Conduct functional testing after repairs to verify equipment performance and operational safety.
Maintain workshop tools, testing instruments, spare parts, and service equipment in good working condition.
Prepare maintenance reports, inspection records, and repair documentation accurately.
Follow company safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements, and electrical safety regulations.
Coordinate with senior technicians and supervisors to complete maintenance activities efficiently.
Perform other technical and maintenance duties assigned by management.
