Assistant Mechanic
Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience as an Assistant Mechanic or similar role.
Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate in Mechanical Technology or a related technical field.
Male applicants are preferred for this role.
3–5 years of experience in the Aerial Work Platforms (AWPs), Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs), Heavy Equipment, or Machinery Industry is preferred.
Proven experience working with Boom Lifts, Scissor Lifts, Telehandlers, Spider Lifts, Forklifts, and Truck-Mounted Lifts.
Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, engineering drawings, and service manuals.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems.
Good troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Physically fit and able to work in industrial environments and at heights when required.
Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities:

Assist in the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Aerial Work Platforms (AWPs), Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs), and heavy equipment.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on boom lifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers, spider lifts, forklifts, truck-mounted lifts, and related machinery.
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
Replace or repair worn, damaged, or defective mechanical components, hydraulic hoses, cylinders, pumps, bearings, gears, and other machine parts.
Conduct routine servicing, including lubrication, fluid replacement, filter changes, and equipment adjustments.
Perform pre-delivery inspections, operational testing, and functional checks to ensure equipment reliability and safety.
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, maintenance manuals, and service documentation.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and repair documentation.
Ensure workshop tools, equipment, and work areas are clean, organized, and properly maintained.
Follow company safety procedures, manufacturer guidelines, and industry best practices during all maintenance activities.
Work closely with senior mechanics and supervisors to complete repairs efficiently and minimize equipment downtime.
Perform other mechanical and maintenance duties assigned by management.
