The Role
OpenTrain is seeking an at-home smartphone motion video contributor to collect first-person video and synchronized smartphone IMU sensor data while completing assigned physical activities. You will use a phone mounted on a head strap, keep both hands visible, and follow established collection and quality procedures.
This is an entry-level individual contractor opportunity performed remotely from eligible U.S. states. The role is part time, with less than 20 hours per week, and pays $10–$15 per hour.

What You'll Do
You will complete assigned physical movements and record them from a first-person perspective. Your work must consistently meet project standards for synchronization, labeling, standardization, documentation, and delivery.
- Record first-person video with a smartphone mounted on a head strap
- Keep both hands visible in recorded footage
- Capture accurate motion data through smartphone IMU sensors
- Keep video and sensor recordings synchronized
- Follow technical data-collection and quality protocols
- Document observations and communicate clearly about questions
- Complete established project deliverables reliably
Requirements
You must have the equipment and physical ability needed to complete the recording tasks safely and consistently. Previous AI experience is not required if you can follow instructions and produce high-quality data.
- iPhone 12 or later, Google Pixel 6 or later, or Samsung Galaxy S21 or later
- A head strap that securely holds the phone and keeps both hands visible
- Ability to capture synchronized first-person video and smartphone IMU sensor data
- Strong attention to detail and consistent adherence to standardized procedures
- Comfort using mobile devices for video and sensor-data capture
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Reliable delivery habits
- Ability to perform repetitive physical movements safely
