Basecamp Maintenance Technician

About the position

The Basecamp Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of facilities, equipment, and grounds. This entry-level position supports the safe and efficient operation of the organization by completing preventative maintenance tasks, responding to maintenance requests, and assisting with repairs under the direction of senior maintenance staff.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections of facilities, equipment, and building systems.
  • Complete basic maintenance and repair tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general handyman work.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance programs to ensure equipment and facilities remain in good working condition.
  • Respond to work orders and maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Repair or replace minor fixtures, hardware, lighting, and building components.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas, tools, and equipment.
  • Support facility moves, equipment installations, and special projects as assigned.
  • Monitor and report safety hazards, equipment issues, and building concerns.
  • Assist with grounds maintenance, including trash removal and general exterior upkeep.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
  • Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment and tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous maintenance, facilities, construction, or related experience preferred.
  • Technical training or trade school education is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of building maintenance practices.
