Residential Conveyancer

Location: Battle, East Sussex
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Job Type: Full-time

Are you an experienced Residential Conveyancer looking for the opportunity to take ownership of your own caseload within a specialist, client-focused property practice?

We are working with a well-established specialist residential property firm in East Sussex that is looking to appoint an experienced Residential Conveyancer to join its growing team.

The firm has built a strong reputation for providing a personal, highly responsive conveyancing service, with a real focus on attention to detail, clear communication and proactive client care. The team handles a broad range of residential property matters for private clients, investors and repeat property owners.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Residential Conveyancer who is confident managing transactions from initial instruction through to completion and post-completion.

You will be responsible for managing your own caseload of residential property matters, working closely with clients, estate agents, lenders, brokers and other solicitors to ensure transactions progress efficiently and smoothly.

Your caseload is likely to include:

  • Residential sales and purchases
  • Freehold and leasehold transactions
  • Remortgages
  • Transfers of equity
  • New-build transactions
  • Repossessions and other more complex matters
  • Preparing and reviewing contracts and title documentation
  • Raising and responding to property enquiries
  • Ordering and reviewing searches
  • Preparing reports on title and mortgage reports
  • Liaising with lenders and dealing with certificate of title requirements
  • Preparing completion statements
  • SDLT submissions
  • Land Registry applications and requisitions
  • Managing post-completion requirements
  • AML, ID and due diligence checks
  • Maintaining clear and proactive communication with clients and third parties
About You

We are looking for an experienced Residential Conveyancer who is comfortable taking responsibility for their own files and delivering a high level of client service.

You will ideally have:

  • Solid experience within residential conveyancing
  • Experience managing files from instruction through to completion and post-completion
  • A strong understanding of the residential conveyancing process
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Confident communication skills with clients and other professionals
  • The ability to manage deadlines and prioritise a busy caseload
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • Strong IT and case management skills
A qualified solicitor, legal executive, licensed conveyancer or experienced conveyancing fee earner will be considered, provided you have the relevant residential property experience.

The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity for a Residential Conveyancer who wants to work within a specialist property environment where quality of service and client relationships are genuinely valued.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a varied caseload, develop strong client relationships and take genuine ownership of their matters, rather than working within a purely volume-driven conveyancing environment.

If you are an experienced Residential Conveyancer looking for a role where you can use your technical knowledge, manage your own files and become a valued member of a specialist property team, we would be keen to hear from you.
