Cyber Security 1
We're seeking an entry-level Cyber Security 1 analyst to join our security operations team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional eager to build a career in information security, supporting day-to-day monitoring, incident response, and compliance activities under the guidance of senior analysts.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and event logs across SIEM and endpoint tools, escalating anomalies to senior analysts
- Assist in triaging and documenting security incidents following established playbooks
- Support vulnerability scanning activities and help track remediation status
- Help maintain security documentation, including policies, procedures, and audit evidence
- Participate in user access reviews and basic compliance checks
- Learn and apply foundational security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) under mentorship
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, firewalls, DNS)
- Familiarity with common security tools (antivirus, SIEM, vulnerability scanners) through coursework, internships, or labs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearance or client-specific credentialing
Preferred Qualifications
- Security+ certification (or in progress)
- Exposure to scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automation
- Internship or lab experience with SOC tools (Splunk, QRadar, CrowdStrike)
