Direct Response Copywriter

Overview

We are looking for an experienced direct response copywriter to create advertising copy, landing pages, emails, and video scripts for our campaigns. This is a project-to-project engagement. Compensation is based on output, and working hours are flexible as long as deadlines are met.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Write ad copy across LinkedIn, Google, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
  • Write landing pages designed to convert traffic into leads and customers.
  • Write direct response emails, including sales emails, nurture sequences, and campaign broadcasts.
  • Write VSLs and video scripts for YouTube and other platforms, covering both short-form reels and long-form videos.
  • Develop high-performing headlines and hooks that grab attention and drive response.
  • Adapt copy to match the company's voice while maintaining a conversational tone.
  • Maintain copy readability strictly below Grade 5 on the Flesch-Kincaid scale.
  • Deliver all projects on or before agreed deadlines on a project-to-project, output-based structure.
  • Coordinate with the team on project briefs, revisions, and feedback, providing proactive updates and early flagging of issues.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven experience in direct response copywriting
  • Experience writing direct response emails
  • Experience writing VSLs and video scripts, both short-form and long-form
  • Portfolio of ads, landing pages, VSLs, and video scripts. Performance results are strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Strong communication skills, including proactive updates and early flagging of issues.
  • Ability to work quickly and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborative and open to feedback.
