Executive Assistant / Content & Operations Lead

This a Full Remote job, the offer is available from: Africa, Philippines

Overview

Rocket Resume is an online resume-building platform founded in 2018, currently pivoting to also serve B2B customers through a new sister company, Ship Crew, which will build and provide the services Rocket Resume runs on. The founder, Steve, is an engineer by background who is deeply focused on product and growth, and needs an Executive Assistant who can take email and admin off his plate quickly, then grow into owning SEO content execution, a small content team, and light operations for a fully remote, globally distributed company.

Key Responsibilities

Phase 1 — Executive Support (first 2 weeks priority)

•     Take ownership of the founder's email inbox — learning his voice and tone, triaging, drafting and sending responses, and following up so nothing falls through the cracks

•     Manage his calendar and scheduling across a distributed, global team spanning multiple time zones

•     Help build a simple system (ideally AI-assisted) for processing physical mail and lower-priority inbox items

Ongoing — SEO, Content & Operations (core of the role)

•     Own execution of an aggressive SEO content roadmap — researching search terms, briefing and producing high volumes of targeted, well-optimized blog content aimed at ranking for terms like "resume builder"

•     Build and manage a small team of content writers/creators (often international) to scale content production without the founder managing each piece directly

•     Test and manage organic growth channels beyond search (e.g. Pinterest, relevant online communities and groups) to drive traffic to content

•     Take a self-directed, solutions-first approach — proposing and building processes rather than waiting to be told exactly what to do

•     Check in regularly (including a monthly meeting) with the customer support team on the founder's behalf, since this function currently runs with minimal oversight

•     Support light project management — coordinating with the CMO, a content writer, and other contributors to keep initiatives on track

•     Use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) daily to automate repetitive tasks across email, content, and workflows

Personal Support (lighter, as needed)

•     Help with occasional travel planning and coordination for the founder

•     Support with household logistics or errands as they come up

Tools & Systems in Use

•     Slack (primary team communication — team works async across time zones), Stripe

•     Blog/CMS on the Rocket Resume website; no formal SEO tooling or content workflow in place yet — this role will help build it

•     AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) integrated into daily workflows

Company & Team Context

•     Fully remote, always-on team: head of engineering (Australia), engineers (Central America), engineering contractors (Poland), design firm (Ukraine), customer support (Jamaica/Bahamas), and marketing (US-based)

•     Business is subscription-based (short low-cost trial converting to a monthly or annual plan); growth is driven almost entirely by search, not social/brand discovery

•     Company is currently rebuilding its website and expanding from B2C into B2B, with a strong focus on global reach and conversion-rate optimization

Ideal Candidate Profile

•     Minimum 3–4 years of experience as an Executive Assistant, with meaningful exposure to SEO, content, or marketing operations

•     Startup background preferred over strictly corporate/process-heavy environments — comfortable with ambiguity and building process from scratch

•     Self-directed and solutions-oriented — able to propose and run with a plan rather than needing detailed direction on every task

•     Comfortable owning and eventually managing a small team of content writers/creators

•     Working knowledge of how SEO for search engines (not just social media) actually works — keyword research, on-page content strategy, ranking factors

•     Comfortable adopting AI tools as part of daily workflow, ideally with concrete examples of using AI to automate inbox, content, or operational tasks

•     Strong communicator, able to interface confidently with a CMO, content writers, engineers, and customer support across time zones

•     Trustworthy and discreet, able to build rapport quickly with a founder who prefers to delegate gradually as trust is established
