About AI Training Work

AI training is the human side of building modern artificial intelligence. Experts create examples, write challenging prompts, and evaluate model responses so advanced systems can produce more accurate, reliable, and professionally useful results.

In this role, your financial judgment will help shape how AI handles complex analysis, valuation, investment decisions, forecasting, and risk assessment.

  • Contribute to cutting-edge AI systems
  • Apply professional expertise to realistic analytical tasks
  • Work remotely with flexible contractor scheduling

The Role

OpenTrain is seeking a Financial Modeling and Investment AI Training Expert to create and evaluate difficult tasks for advanced AI systems. You will assess technical accuracy, assumptions, practical relevance, evidence, and alignment with professional financial standards.

The work spans financial modeling, valuation, investment research, portfolio analysis, forecasting, and risk assessment. Strong investment judgment and the ability to challenge financial assumptions are central to success.

  • Create high-difficulty financial and investment tasks
  • Develop gold-standard solutions grounded in professional practice
  • Review and calibrate contributor work for technical accuracy and quality
  • Evaluate valuation logic, assumptions, risks, and evidence-based recommendations
  • Escalate genuine edge cases and ambiguities in evaluation criteria

Required Expertise

You should bring 8 to 15 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, asset management, credit, equity research, or corporate finance. The role requires advanced modeling capability and expert knowledge of established valuation methods.

A CFA, CAIA, MBA, equivalent qualification, substantial front-office or investment-desk experience, and a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience are relevant qualifications.

  • Expert knowledge of DCF, comparable-company, precedent-transaction, and asset-based valuation
  • Advanced experience building three-statement, LBO, merger, credit, forecasting, and scenario models
  • Strong ability to evaluate opportunities, assess risks, and challenge assumptions
  • Ability to present evidence-based investment recommendations
  • Relevant experience creating difficult finance tasks, producing gold-standard solutions, or reviewing and calibrating analytical work

Helpful Background

Experience in AI evaluation, data annotation, content review, quality assurance, or a related analytical role can help you contribute, but it is not required. Experience presenting evidence-based recommendations and critically reviewing financial assumptions is especially relevant.

  • Investment banking
  • Private equity or hedge funds
  • Asset management or credit
  • Equity research or corporate finance
  • Financial analysis and quality review
