FLIGHT OPERATIONS OFFICER
Job Description – Flight Operations Officer / Flight Dispatcher Key Responsibilities: - Prepare, validate, and file ICAO Flight Plans for both domestic and international flight operations. - Coordinate overflight permits, landing permits, airport slots, Prior Permission Required (PPR) approvals, parking arrangements, and ground handling services. - Monitor aircraft movements from pre-flight preparation through flight completion and provide operational support as required. - Review weather conditions, NOTAMs, airport status, airspace restrictions, and other operational factors that may affect flight safety and efficiency. - Coordinate with Maintenance Control, Engineering, Ground Handling, Fuel Suppliers, Airport Authorities, and Flight Crew to ensure seamless flight operations. - Prepare complete flight dispatch documentation, including weather briefings, navigation packages, fuel planning, aircraft performance data, and operational releases. - Maintain continuous communication with clients and aircraft operators regarding flight schedules, delays, diversions, cancellations, and operational updates. - Support aircraft maintenance planning by coordinating aircraft availability, maintenance positioning flights, and operational scheduling. - Ensure compliance with CAAP, ICAO, FAA, company policies, and other applicable aviation regulations and operational standards. - Maintain accurate operational records, dispatch logs, flight documentation, and regulatory reports. - Participate in Aircraft on Ground (AOG) response, irregular operations, emergency response coordination, and operational recovery planning. - Assist in the continuous improvement of Flight Operations procedures, dispatch manuals, operational databases, and workflow automation initiatives. - Perform 24/7 operational control duties on a rotating shift schedule, including weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments as required. - Carry out other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Flight Operations Manager or immediate supervisor in support of safe and efficient flight operations. Qualifications Educational Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related field is preferred. - Must possess a valid Flight Dispatcher License. - Relevant experience in flight dispatch, flight operations, or airline operational control is an advantage. Knowledge and Technical Skills - Strong knowledge of ICAO Annexes, CAAP Regulations, flight planning procedures, NOTAM interpretation, METAR/TAF decoding, aircraft performance, weight and balance, fuel planning, ETOPS concepts, airport operational requirements, and international overflight and landing permit coordination. - Knowledge of aircraft operational limitations, airline dispatch procedures, and flight monitoring processes. - Familiarity with Flight Planning Systems, Aviation Information Systems, and operational control software. - Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Google Workspace. - Understanding of aviation safety management principles and regulatory compliance requirements.
