About Sav-Mor Automotive

Sav-Mor Automotive is seeking a General Service Technician (GST) in Plano, TX, with pay of $20–$25/hour based on experience and a Monday–Friday schedule with no weekends.
Family-owned since 1963, the shop services domestic, Asian, and European vehicles and averages 50–75 vehicles per week.
Technicians work in a 14-bay facility with 12 lifts, modern automotive technology, ongoing paid training, and opportunities to advance into higher-level technician roles.
The shop offers medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, retirement benefits, PTO, paid holidays, and ASE reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform oil changes and routine automotive maintenance services
  • Rotate, repair, and install tires
  • Perform multi-point vehicle inspections
  • Replace batteries, wiper blades, filters, and vehicle fluids
  • Complete basic brake services
  • Communicate vehicle inspection results to the service team
  • Assist A-Level and B-Level Technicians as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area while completing quality work efficiently

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of automotive experience
  • Previous automotive maintenance or General Service Technician experience preferred
  • Independent automotive repair shop experience is a plus
  • Basic brake service experience preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced automotive repair environment
  • Willingness to learn and develop automotive repair skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a technician team
