Groundskeeper / Maintainence Worker - Brownsville
Job Title: Repair and Alterations Maintenance Personnel
Key Responsibilities:
Repair and Maintenance Tasks:
- Perform light electrical work, such as changing lightbulbs and light fixtures.
- Conduct basic plumbing repairs, such as fixing leaks or replacing fixtures.
- Complete assigned work orders efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain and repair structures and facilities as needed.
- Ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition and report the need for major repairs.
- Operate machinery such as lifts, haul trailers, and power equipment.
- Drywall Repair
- Troubleshoot fences and gates
- Basic Carpentry
- Exterior and Interior Painting
- Door and window repair
Travel and Coverage:
- Provide custodial coverage and support as needed across different locations.
- Drive company vehicles to job sites or designated areas; must maintain a valid Texas driver’s license.
- Travel may include overnight stays, with NVS covering all travel expenses, including per diem, hotel accommodations, flights, and transportation.
- Responsible for custodial coverage as needed; training will be provided.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in general maintenance, repairs, or similar roles preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general repair work.
- Tool Proficiency: Ability to effectively use a variety of tools and equipment for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Safety Awareness: Adherence to safety protocols while performing maintenance and outdoor tasks.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Communication: Effective verbal communication for reporting issues and collaborating with supervisors and team members.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid Texas driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Must have a clean background and be able to obtain government clearance.
- Random drug tests will be performed.
- Availability to travel for work as needed.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks or priorities.

Grounds Maintenance Tasks:
- Mow lawns, trim, and edge grounds to maintain clean and manicured landscapes.
- Mow highway right of ways.
- Trim trees, prune shrubs, and clean palm trees to uphold safety and aesthetics.
- Remove debris, weeds, and litter to ensure outdoor areas are presentable.
- Check and maintain sprinkler systems.

Monday to Friday
08:00 AM to 05:00 PM
Pay Rate:
$13.00 to $15.00 hourly (depends on experience)
Valid Driver License with a clean driving record is required
