POSITION DETAILS

The Office of Human Resources supports employee learning, professional development, compliance, and performance management across Baruch College. Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the HR Training Specialist coordinates employee training and development, administers compliance training and evaluation processes, tracks participation and completion, and provides guidance to departments, supervisors, and employees.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify, coordinate, and promote employee training and professional development opportunities available through CUNY resources, including Professional Development Learning (PDL), LinkedIn Learning, EAP, and other applicable programs.

  • Assist in the develop an in-house employee training program, facilitate employee training sessions, and provide ongoing support to departments on training and development initiatives.

  • Assess organizational and departmental training needs by identifying skill gaps, compliance requirements, and professional development opportunities for employees.

  • Manage and track PDL participation and completion records; prepare and submit required reports and documentation to Central Office by established deadlines.

  • Administer mandatory compliance training programs by monitoring participation, tracking completion rates, and supporting institutional compliance.

  • Communicate regularly with department leaders, supervisors, faculty, and staff regarding training requirements, upcoming deadlines, and compliance obligations.

  • Serve as a resource for employees and supervisors on training opportunities, professional development programs, and compliance training requirements.

  • Coordinate annual evaluation processes for classified and instructional staff, including monitoring timelines, maintaining evaluation records, communicating requirements, and ensuring completion in accordance with College and University policies.

  • Maintain confidential personnel and training records and prepare reports to support compliance reviews and workforce planning initiatives.

  • Assist departments with performance development initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required.

  • Plans training activities, including working with internal and external instructors and site coordinators, preparing communications and marketing materials, and actively promoting available programs

  • Coordinates registration and other communications with employees enrolled in programs

  • Compiles data and creates reports on enrollment, trainee feedback, and other issues to determine the effectiveness of training programs and identify opportunities for improvement

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$82,384- $89,777; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
