We are seeking a motivated Payroll & Accounts Associate to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career finance professional who enjoys working with detail, solving problems and supporting accurate payroll and financial processes.

You will work across a growing organisation operating primarily within the healthcare industry, with additional business interests in recruitment and technology.

About the Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support the accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintain financial records, assist with accounts functions and help respond to employee payroll enquiries. This is a fully remote role working Monday to Friday during Sydney business hours.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll
  • Assist with preparing and processing employee payroll.
  • Review timesheets, attendance records and payroll data for accuracy.
  • Maintain employee payroll information, including tax, superannuation and banking details.
  • Process reimbursements, allowances and employee entitlements.
  • Respond to payroll enquiries and investigate discrepancies.
Accounts and Reporting
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
  • Assist with invoice preparation, tracking and reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare payroll summaries, expense reports and other financial information.
  • Assist with BAS, PAYG, audit reporting and statutory filings as required.
Team Support
  • Work collaboratively with the Finance team to improve processes and efficiency.
  • Provide regular updates on assigned work.
  • Assist with finance projects and other tasks assigned by the Finance Manager.

About You

You will ideally have:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
  • One to two years of experience in payroll, accounting or a similar role.
  • Experience using Xero payroll and accounting software.
  • An understanding of Australian payroll requirements, tax codes and accounting principles.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to manage confidential information professionally.
  • A proactive, dependable and solutions-focused approach.

Working Arrangements

  • Employment: Full-time
  • Location: Work from home / fully remote
  • Working days: Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Sydney, NSW time
  • Weekends: Saturday and Sunday off

  • A reliable laptop with an Intel Core i5 processor or higher.
  • A high-speed internet connection of at least 50 Mbps.
  • A backup internet connection.
  • A contingency plan for power outages.
  • A dedicated and suitable home workspace.
  • An additional monitor is highly recommended.
