Job Summary

In this role, you will support food preparation, maintain cleanliness, and assist with serving delicious meals to our valued guests. Duties

  • Assist with the preparation, cooking and serving of meals and refreshments.

Qualifications

  • Prepare food in accordance with residents’ dietary requirements, allergies and individual preferences.
  • Support the kitchen team with breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the kitchen and food preparation areas.
  • Wash dishes, clean equipment and ensure kitchen areas are kept tidy.
  • Follow food safety, HACCP, COSHH and infection prevention procedures.
  • Check and store food appropriately, following stock rotation principles.
  • Report any concerns regarding food safety, equipment or residents’ dietary needs to the appropriate person.
  • Work respectfully with residents and staff, promoting a warm and welcoming dining experience.
  • Complete any required kitchen records and checks.
  • Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is preferred but not required
  • Basic knowledge of meal preparation, food safety practices, and kitchen equipment
  • Strong interest in culinary arts with a willingness to learn new skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks such as lifting or moving supplies
  • Prior experience with food preparation or serving is a plus but not mandatory
