About the role
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Librarian to join our team at AMA Computer College Inc. in Dasmarinas City, Cavite. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting our academic community by managing library operations and information resources. As Librarian, you will be responsible for curating, organizing and providing access to both physical and digital collections, whilst ensuring that students, faculty and staff have the support they need to succeed in their learning and research endeavors.Key responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all library operations, including circulation, cataloguing and classification of learning materials
- Develop and maintain library collections aligned with academic programs and curriculum requirements
- Provide research support and information literacy instruction to students and faculty members
- Administer library systems and databases, ensuring accurate records and efficient access to resources
- Create and deliver information literacy training sessions and library orientation programs for new users
- Manage library budgets and coordinate procurement of books, journals, electronic resources and other materials
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective library service delivery
- Collaborate with academic departments to identify information needs and enhance collection development
- Maintain a welcoming and conducive learning environment within the library facilities
- Monitor and evaluate library services to ensure they meet institutional standards and user satisfaction
- Assist with special projects and initiatives that support the college's educational mission
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Science or a related field; or equivalent professional qualification
- Professional librarian certification or registration with relevant library associations
- Proven experience working in a library or information management setting, preferably in an academic or educational environment
- Proficiency in library management systems and databases
- Strong organizational and cataloguing skills with knowledge of standard classification systems (such as Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress Classification)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse user groups
- Competency in information literacy instruction and user education
- Knowledge of both print and digital information resources
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Familiarity with academic information needs and research support practices is preferred
- Experience with digital resource management and emerging library technologies would be advantageous
