About AI training work

AI training (data labeling/annotation) is the human side of building intelligent systems — people prepare, review, and score real examples so models learn correct, useful behavior. This role applies business strategy skills to create high-quality, structured outputs that train and evaluate generative models and decision-making flows.

The role

OpenTrain is hiring a remote contractor to review business materials and produce strategy deliverables used for AI training. You will create executive presentations, market analyses, financial models, rubrics, and structured critiques that convert complex business content into clear, decision-ready inputs for models and human reviewers.

  • Employment: Contractor, part-time
  • Hours: 20+ hours per week
  • Pay: USD $50–70 per hour (PAY_PER_HOUR)
  • Language: English
  • Location: Remote, worldwide

What you'll do

  • Develop strategic recommendations aligned to stated objectives and industry best practices.
  • Design executive-level slide decks and business reports with clear visualizations and data-driven insights.
  • Conduct market analyses and operational assessments and synthesize findings into actionable frameworks.
  • Build and interpret financial models, business cases, and scenario analyses to inform recommendations.
  • Evaluate business documents and deliver structured, improvement-focused feedback.
  • Create rubrics and scoring criteria from visual documents and presentations for consistent evaluation.
  • Summarize key insights succinctly for executives and for use in AI model training and evaluation (text generation, evaluation rating, RLHF).

Requirements

Candidates must bring demonstrable consulting or advisory experience and strong communication and analytical skills. This role is listed as Entry level on OpenTrain but requires relevant professional background.

  • Background in management consulting, strategy consulting, corporate strategy, transformation consulting, or related advisory work.
  • Experience creating executive presentations, slide decks, and business reports.
  • Advanced analytical skills including market research and financial modeling.
  • Ability to explain complex information clearly to non-technical and executive audiences.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with high clarity and precision.
  • Comfort working independently in a remote, collaborative project environment.
  • Good judgment in evaluating business documents and designing structured rubrics.

Helpful background

  • Familiarity with rubrics, frameworks, or scoring guides constructed from business materials.
  • Regular experience reviewing and improving slide presentations and executive communications.
  • Prior participation in AI training tasks (text generation, evaluation rating, RLHF) is useful but not required.

Schedule & compensation

This is a part-time contractor engagement requiring 20+ hours per week. Compensation is hourly and ranges from USD $50 to $70 per hour depending on experience and quality of deliverables.

  • Payment type: PAY_PER_HOUR (USD)
