Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Certified Phlebotomy Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients, ensuring accurate labeling and processing, and maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory procedures, excellent patient service skills, and adherence to aseptic techniques to support diagnostic testing and patient health outcomes.

Duties

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection using proper techniques such as venipuncture and blood sampling.
  • Prepare and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
  • Assist with specimen processing, including centrifugation, aliquoting, and storage as required.
  • Monitor and record vital signs when necessary, providing comprehensive patient care during specimen collection.
  • Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques to prevent contamination or infection during procedures.
  • Ensure patient comfort and provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures clearly and addressing concerns professionally.
  • Follow all laboratory protocols related to specimen handling, safety, and documentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment in compliance with health standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely delivery of specimens for testing.

Qualifications

  • Phlebotomy certification - Required in California
  • 2 Years phlebotomy experience required

Experience

  • Proven laboratory experience with a focus on phlebotomy or specimen collection.
  • Knowledge of laboratory techniques, clinical laboratory procedures, and medical terminology.
  • Experience working in hospital or clinical settings is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform venipuncture accurately and efficiently.
  • Familiarity with physiology, anatomy, and vital signs measurement is advantageous.
