Description: Management Controller... Supervision and Direction: The Management Controller will receive general supervision and direction from the Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”). The Controller is responsible for the direction and coordination of the Senior Accountants, Staff Accountants, and the Accounts Payable function. Requirements: Duties and Responsibilities: • Provide leadership and direction over accounting functions in order to maintain and communicate consistent accounting policies and practices in accordance with GAAP. • Ensure all financial reporting obligations to all stakeholders (owners, investors, syndicators, state agencies, HUD, RD) are met in a timely and accurate manner (monthly, quarterly, annually) • Review month-end closings for assigned portfolio. • Ensure accurate and timely monthly close in compliance with GAAP. • Participate in internal ‘watch list’ meetings and assist in the follow-up and direction of the regional management. • Ensure strict adherence to closing and reporting deadlines. • Work on continuous improvement of all finance and accounting systems. • Prepare cash forecasts for assigned portfolio to notify others when cash is not available to cover priority costs. • Ensure adequate internal controls are in place and promote risk management across the organization. • Provide full support for other finance activities, including tax compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. • Be the primary contact for the external auditors. • Ensure all inquiries from stakeholders relating to monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements are responded to in a timely manner. • Coordinate submission of the annual audits to all stakeholders as necessary Qualifications: • Residential affordable property management experience in accounting/financial reporting – minimum of five years • Exceptional leadership skills in managing a large department. • Supervisory experience • Excellent communication capabilities • reputed company software experience (required). • Bachelor’s Degree (required); Accounting degree (preferred). • CPA (preferred). • A willingness to roll up their sleeves and handle/balance multiple items at once. • Entrepreneurial mindset, personally driven, desire to work hard and accomplish goals Apply Job!
