Trade Lifecycle Specialist - Reconciliations

As a Trade Lifecycle Specialist IV (Reconciliations) within JPMorganChase, you will play a pivotal role in managing moderate to complex tasks related to daily cash reconciliations, including monitoring intraday and end-of-day activities, identifying and investigating breaks, and driving timely resolution within agreed SLAs. Your work will have a significant impact within your team, helping ensure accurate cash positions and reliable books and records across accounts, currencies, and cash networks. You will leverage your expertise in a variety of work processes, applying advanced knowledge of policies, procedures, and controls to solve non-routine exceptions and prevent recurring breaks. Your role will involve working on escalated investigations and high-impact items, requiring you to apply structured problem-solving techniques and strengthen end-to-end processes. Your ability to actively listen, manage internal stakeholders, create presentations, and initiate process improvements will be key to your success in this role.


Job responsibilities

  • Perform daily reconciliations across assigned products/accounts; identify, investigate, and clear breaks within agreed SLAs.
  • Analyze exceptions and root causes; partner with internal teams, agent banks, and technology to drive resolution to closure.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal controls; escalate aging breaks and client-impacting issues with clear status and actions.
  • Monitor break volumes and exception trends; escalate unusual spikes, recurring themes, and emerging risks to the Team Lead/Manager.
  • Support reviews, audits, and controls/process testing by preparing evidence and maintaining documentation.
  • Identify process/control enhancements and support automation/standardization initiatives with technical partners.
  • Provide support to the team for other assignments as required from time to time.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Knowledge of reconciliation concepts, controls, and exception management (break identification, investigation, escalation).
  • 2+ years of relevant operations/reconciliations experience.
  • Understanding of financial instruments and basic accounting treatment.
  • Experience with fund accounting and/or reconciliation systems and strong proficiency with Excel (and similar office tools).
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Clear written/verbal communication and effective stakeholder management.


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Knowledge/experience with automation and analytics tools (e.g., Alteryx, MS VBA, Tableau, LLM-enabled tools and Microsoft Copilot, or similar applications) is an advantage.
