Virtual Medical Assistant - English Required, Spanish Preferred

About us

NewAge Endocrinology is an endocrinology medical practice in Orange County, California. We are seeking a dependable Virtual Medical Assistant based in the Philippines to support our patients and clinical team.

Excellent spoken and written English is required. Spanish is strongly preferred, but applicants who are still developing their Spanish may qualify if their English, organization, reliability, and work ethic are excellent. Chavacano speakers are welcome to apply; professional Spanish proficiency will be evaluated separately.

Responsibilities

Manage patient messages and administrative tasks.

Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments.

Enter and update patient information in Tebra.

Support insurance eligibility checks, referrals, and authorizations.

Route prescription refill and laboratory-result requests.

Maintain task lists and complete documentation accurately.

Gradually assist with patient calls, English-Spanish interpretation when qualified, and medical-scribe work after training.

Requirements

Advanced spoken and written English.

Spanish ability from beginner/intermediate through fluent; proficiency will be evaluated.

Prior virtual-assistant, customer-service, BPO, or medical-office experience preferred.

Professional, empathetic communication and strong attention to detail.

Personal computer, quality headset, stable internet of at least 20 Mbps, and a backup plan for power or internet interruptions.

A private, quiet workspace suitable for confidential medical information and compliance with HIPAA requirements.

Availability Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Pacific Time. This is generally midnight–9:00 a.m. Philippine time during U.S. daylight-saving time and 1:00–10:00 a.m. during U.S. standard time.

What we offer

Contractual compensation: USD $7.00–$9.00 per hour, based on Spanish proficiency and relevant experience. Indeed may display an approximate amount in Philippine pesos. If payment is made in local currency, it will be converted from the agreed U.S. dollar rate using the applicable exchange rate on the payment date.

Approximately 40 hours per week.

Fully remote work from the Philippines.

Training in our systems and processes.
