Job Overview
Komatsu is recruiting a Team Lead to support our Longview, Texas operations. Komatsu offers an excellent benefit package, competitive pay, bonus potential, and annual merit reviews.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Work with the supervisor and other team leads to manage and prioritize staffing assignments to meet customer demand and the production schedule.
- Help coordinate employee onboarding and training to ensure procedures are followed and safety and quality requirements are met.
- Use basic problem-solving skills to ensure stable operation of the work cell.
- Report problems or concerns related to safety, quality, processes, equipment, materials, and labor to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Collaborate with support staff such as Safety, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Warehouse Supervisor, Production Planning, and Materials/Warehouse to resolve issues.
- Observe, maintain, and improve standard work processes.
- Promote and monitor production metrics and facilitate team communication.
- Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives with the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Sustain and promote lean manufacturing and 6S activities.
- Participate actively as a member of the warehouse team site-wide.
- Follow and uphold documented policies and procedures as per the company’s Quality System.
- Complete required documentation for business or regulatory purposes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support warehouse functions.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, engineering prints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Leadership experience in team or project management is highly desired.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous process improvement.
