WFH Payroll Processing Assistant

Job Overview Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Processing Assistant to support their weekly payroll operations for approximately 70–80 casual employees. This role is ideal for someone with proven payroll processing experience, exceptional accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently while meeting strict payroll deadlines. Schedule Monday - Tuesday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Australian Time (15 work hours per week) Responsibilities - Receive completed employee timesheets through the shared payroll mailbox and review for completeness and accuracy. - Follow up with clients regarding missing, incomplete, or incorrect timesheets before payroll deadlines. - Accurately enter validated timesheet data into SwiftPay, the client's payroll platform. - Generate, download, and submit weekly payroll reports to the Senior Consultant for review and approval. - Process payroll amendments, pay adjustments, and resolve any discrepancies identified during the review process. - Finalize weekly payroll after all reviews and approvals are complete, and generate client invoices. - Monitor the shared payroll mailbox and respond promptly to employee payroll inquiries, payslip requests, and payroll-related disputes. Requirements - Previous payroll processing experience is essential, along with demonstrated experience using payroll software or management systems. - Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and high-speed data entry skills. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, investigate, and resolve payroll discrepancies. - Ability to accurately interpret and enter employee time records using both 24-hour and 12-hour time formats. - Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and consistently meet payroll deadlines. - Professional written and verbal communication skills when liaising with clients and employees. - Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive payroll information with professionalism.
