Certified Telepharmacy Technician, Bilingual

Position Summary

The Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) supports pharmacy operations within a telepharmacy environment by assisting pharmacists in the preparation, processing, and delivery of prescription medications. This role ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, including those established by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy, while delivering high-quality patient care through virtual platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter and process prescription orders under pharmacist supervision
  • Prepare and label medications for dispensing in accordance with telepharmacy protocols
  • Support verification processes by coordinating with supervising pharmacists
  • Manage prescription adjudication, including insurance billing and claim resolution
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications
  • Communicate with patients via phone or digital platforms to provide excellent customer service and support
  • Identify and escalate medication-related concerns or discrepancies to the pharmacist
  • Ensure compliance with all telepharmacy procedures, company policies, and Texas pharmacy laws
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure work environment

Qualifications

  • Active Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification (e.g., PTCB or ExCPT)
  • Current registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum [1–2] years of pharmacy technician experience preferred (retail, hospital, or telepharmacy)
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, medication terminology, and insurance processing
  • Proficiency with pharmacy management systems and telehealth technologies
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
