Senior Director of Product Management, Endpoint Security & XDR
Elastic is seeking a Senior Director of Product Management for Endpoint Security & XDR. This role leads the Endpoint Security and XDR business line, reporting to the GM of Elastic Security and partnering with a VP of Engineering. The candidate will shape product strategy, drive business outcomes, and represent Elastic's endpoint security platform—which achieved 100% protection scores in independent testing—while competing against well-funded incumbents in the security market.
What You'll Do
- Drive business-driven OKRs for the Endpoint Security & XDR line including revenue contribution, competitive win rate, platform attach, retention, and expansion
- Set product strategy and represent it to sales leadership, customers, and analysts; develop a clear market diagnosis and coherent competitive positioning
- Own agentic detection and response strategy for the endpoint, ensuring AI-driven capabilities genuinely help prevention, detection, and response while aligning with the SIEM and analytics platform
- Shape investment priorities with data and customer evidence; own how endpoint and XDR fit the broader Elastic Security platform story to drive upsell and cross-sell
- Build deep customer relationships through visits, deal participation, win/loss reviews, field enablement, and industry event presence; partner with engineering leadership as a true peer sharing outcomes
- Lead and develop a product management team, connecting their work to customer mission and business results
What You Need
- Genuine care for the security practitioners and organizations the product protects
- Business expertise running a product line or business unit in security, including comfort with revenue, win rates, retention, pricing, packaging, and competitive positioning
- Earned credibility in endpoint security (EPP, EDR, XDR) with enough technical understanding to have substantive conversations with engineers and practitioners
- Strong go-to-market partnership experience, including field enablement and deal support
- Evidence-driven decision-making approach using win/loss data, customer conversations, and market signals
- Clear executive communication skills across leadership, CISOs, sales teams, and industry analysts
Nice to Have
- Experience competing with or working at endpoint-focused security vendors with perspective on market strengths and gaps
- Track record helping a security business scale from hundreds of millions toward $1B
- Familiarity with public security testing frameworks (AV-Comparatives, MITRE ATT&CK evaluations) and participation in open efficacy processes
- Experience serving customers in regulated industries, classified networks, air-gapped deployments, or operational technology (OT) environments
- Thoughtful perspective on AI and agentic capabilities at the endpoint with healthy skepticism and clear understanding of genuine defender value
- Contributions to open source projects or the security community; comfort building in the open
- Experience with Linux endpoint security and cloud-native security environments
